This page demonstrates the standard format of a memorandum used in a wide
variety of business and professional contexts. It indicates who the memo
is being directed to, who it is from, and the date it is being
submitted. The line following Re: is a descriptive title for the
contents of the memorandum; thus it is unnecessary to read the entire
memo to determine what it is about.
Needless to say, memos should be typewritten, with standard margins--1 to
1.5 inches at the top, 1 to 1.5 inches on the left and 1 inch on the
right and at the bottom. Also a standard typeface shuld be used: either
Times Roman 12 point or Courier 10 point.
Paragraphs should be blocked as shown in this memo, with a single line
space separating each paragraph.
Don't forget to use the spell check function, and proofread the final
copy before submission.
